The Competition |
- Teams will compete over the course of 3 rounds.
- In the first round, four members of a team must perform together.
- In the subsequent rounds, teams members can perform individually, as a duo, in threes or in quartets but never in a group of five.
- Group pieces constructed and performed as duets, trios and quartets are encouraged. Each performing member must have participated in the writing of the piece.
- All poems performed must be original. Teams that plagiarize will be disqualified.
- Poems/performances that are discriminatory/racist/offensive/sexist are not allowed.
- Each poem must be two minutes long. If any team goes over two minutes and ten seconds, 0.5 points will be deducted from the total score for every 10 seconds of exceeded time.
- No props, costumes or musical instruments are allowed (Teams can, however, wear the same coloured t-shirts or accessories for group identification purposes) Mouth/body percussion can be used.
- Teams will be scored by a panel of judges. Scores between one and ten will be given based on Content and Performance.
